We   are   the   Probus   Verwood   Local   Branch   associated   with   Probus   Global   Organisation.   Probus Clubs   provide   an   opportunity   for   retired   and   semi-rtired   Professional   and   Businessmen   to   meet regularly.   It’s   an   opportunity   for   likeminded   men   to   meet   socially   in   a   relaxed   and   convivial environment.   Unlike   Clubs   such   as   Lions,   Rotary   or   Masonic,   Probus   Clubs   do   not   normally become as involved in concentrated fundraising. The   name   Probus   is   derived   from   the   part   words   within   Pro fessional   and   Bus iness.   It   is   from these people groups that our membership is drawn. The   Verwood   Probus   Club   was   Founded   in   1991   and   is   well   established.   Currently   we   enjoy   a membership   of   around   45/70.   We   meet   at   the   Crane   Valley   Golf   Club   on   the   third   Tuesday   of   each month for a lunch which is followed by a speaker. We   are   the   local   branch   of   the   International   Probus   Organisation.      Probus   clubs   provide   a   forum   for retired   or   semi-retired   professional   and   business   men.   It’s   an   opportunity   for   like   minded   retired   or   semi retired   men   to   meet   socially   in   a   relaxed   and   convivial   environment.   Unlike   clubs   such   as   Lions   or   Rotary, Probus   clubs   do   not   normally   become   involved   in   fund   raising   or   local   charitable   functions.   They   exist only   as   a   social   gathering   of   like   minded   people.   The   name   Probus   is   derived   from   Professional   and Business and it is from these groups that most of our membership is drawn. The   Verwood   club   is   well   established   and   enjoys   a   membership   of   around   60/70.      We   meet   for   luncheon   at the Crane Valley Golf Club on the third Tuesday of each month which is then followed by a speaker. We usually close by 3pm. In addition to the regular monthly lunch meetings, the club organises outings, social events and holidays. Our   members,   together   with   their   wives/partners,   also   meet   for   coffee   at   the   Crane   Valley   Golf   Club   on   the first Tuesday of each month.
